The $2.4-million, 14,000-square-foot store features a drive-through, contemporary design, expanded merchandise offerings, easy-to-read signage directing customers to different areas, and a pathway through the store that leads directly to the pharmacy.

There’s also a private consultation room adjacent to the pharmacy where pharmacists can have conversations with patients, administer immunizations and conduct other clinical services.

Six of the eight members of City Council were on hand during the event, including Councilman Tim Johnson, in whose borough the store is located.

“We are so excited in Holy Neck,” Johnson said. “It’s a huge improvement to the area.”

“You’re going to have such a huge customer base,” Mayor Linda T. Johnson said. “We just look forward to growing with you.”

District Manager Ayanna Hicks said another store is set to open on College Drive on April 7, with an opening in Carrollton anticipated in the fall of this year.

The new store’s hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. The pharmacy is open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
