A story published in our March 15 edition included language we believe was disrespectful to shooting victim Aaron L. Hunter and his family. We regret the mistake and we apologize.

“As I wrote in a recent column, I regret this mistake and personally apologize,” said News-Herald editor Res Spears.

Reporter Allison Williams, who wrote the story, said, “I apologize to Mr. Hunter’s family for anything I wrote that may have added to their grief.”
