The Suffolk Christian Academy baseball team lost 4-3 on the road to Peninsula Catholic High School to open the season on Thursday.
“All the runs that we gave up were due to errors,” SCA assistant coach Scott Cornette said.
Suffolk Christian had four hits, each from a different player. Sophomore Harrison Judy had a double, and the other hits were singles.
SCA senior Michael Cornette pitched four innings, throwing seven strikeouts, giving up three walks and allowing no earned runs.
Freshman Austin Aydlett pitched for two innings in relief, and also did well, throwing three strikeouts, allowing no walks and no earned runs.
“We get to play them again later in the year, so we’re going to use that as a litmus to see how we improve against them,” Scott Cornette said.
Suffolk Christian (0-1) will visit Summit Christian Academy on Thursday.
