Latoya Correll Savage, 39, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was born Feb. 27, 1977, to Loretta Joyner-Wilson and the late James Savage. Latoya was preceded in death by her father, James Savage; stepfather, Willie Wilson Jr.; and her maternal grandfather, Reuben Joyner Sr.

Latoya leaves to cherish her memories her children, Ja’brell and Juneela Beamon; her mother, Loretta Joyner-Wilson; one sister, Alberta Kenny, all of Suffolk; and one stepbrother, Willie T. Brimage (Natalie), of Bowie, Md.; nine aunts, 11 uncles and a host of cousins.

Latoya is a 1996 graduate of Nansemond River High School. She received post high school studies at P.D. Pruden Center for Life Learning, where she received a C.N.A. certificate. She also attended S.T.O.P. Organization, where she received a pharmacy tech certificate. Latoya enjoyed singing in the choir at her church, telling jokes, cooking, being a mother and spending time with her family and friends.

Her funeral will be held this Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 125 County St., Suffolk, at 2 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
