A man who died in a June 8 shooting in Suffolk was from New York, police confirmed Tuesday.

Keenan Feaster β€” not Ferster, as police had originally reported β€” had a last known address on 10th Street in Queens, according to a news release from city spokeswoman Diana Klink. He was 23.

The shooting happened about 6:26 p.m. that day in the 1000 block of Nansemond Parkway at Heritage Acres Apartments, according to a press release on the day of the shooting. Emergency responders found the victim at East Washington Street and Bunch Avenue as he was being driven to the hospital by acquaintances.

Officers and then Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel performed lifesaving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the press release.

β€œThe investigation remains ongoing at this time, and no further information is available,” Klink stated in the news release. She gave a similar response to questions about whether police had any leads or suspects.
