Houston makes Baylor dean’s list

Victoria Nicole Houston of Suffolk was one of more than 3,400 Baylor University students to be named to the dean’s academic honor roll for the 2016 spring semester.

To be named to the dean’s list, a student must be an undergraduate with a minimum grade-point average of 3.7, while enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours.

Houston is a student in the university’s Hankamer School of Business.

Thomson named to Marquette list

Delaney Thomson of Suffolk has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2016 semester at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisc.

Thomson is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in advertising.

Maus graduates from E&H

Nicole Maus of Suffolk was one of 236 Emory and Henry College students to receive their degrees during a spring commencement ceremony.

Maus, who had a double major in environmental studies and geography, also was named to the school’s dean’s list for the spring semester. Dean’s list students must have earned a grade point average of at least 3.6 with at least 12 credit hours during the semester.

Jennings earns Boston U. degree

Kaiya Jennings of Suffolk was among the 6,220 students to receive degrees from Boston University this spring.

Jennings received a Master of Sacred Theology in Religion, Culture and Personality degree.

Rodriguez makes dean’s list

A Carrollton student was among the 2,111 who completed associate, bachelor’s or graduate degrees at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kan., in the spring 2016 semester.

Fort Hays State is one of six public universities in the Kansas Board of Regents system.

Elliot Rodriguez received a Master of Liberal Studies (teaching and learning) degree.

Moore named to ISU dean’s list

Kyle Moore of Suffolk has made the dean’s list for the spring semester at Indiana State University.

To be eligible for the list, a student must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Wade makes MBC honors list

Lashae Wade of Suffolk has been named to the spring 2016 honors list at Mary Baldwin College.

Students named to the honors list earned grade point averages of 3.75 to 4.0. To be eligible, a student must be a degree candidate and must have earned at least 12 semester hours for the grading period.

Eberhardt graduates from VMI

Benjamin R. Eberhardt of Suffolk was among more than 300 cadets receiving bachelor’s degrees from Virginia Military Institute during its commencement ceremony May 16.

Eberhardt received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and business with a financial management concentration. Graduating honors include Distinguished Military Grad, Army Commission and With Distinction.

Eberhardt’s parents are Debra K. Eberhardt and Michael D. Eberhardt.
