The Sleepy Hole Park service project originally scheduled for July 23 has now been pushed to Aug. 6, according to Elizabeth Taraski.

The project entails spreading mulch over an area adjacent to the park’s pier. Volunteers will also prepare the area for fall planting.

Taraski, president of the Nansemond River Preservation Alliance, has asked volunteers to bring gardening gloves and “hard” rakes. Water and refreshments will be provided on-site.
