Jesse Thomas Apple unexpectedly made his transition to the next world Aug. 8, 2016, after dying in his sleep. Jesse was born Dec. 10, 1992, in Norfolk. From his earliest years, Jesse loved doing science experiments, building crazy inventions, and being creative on all levels. Many people will remember his impressive science fair entries, and his parents remember his constant, often messy, projects around the house.

Jesse attended Nansemond Parkway Elementary School, Stonebridge Christian School, and King’s Fork High School. He chose to homeschool for his last two years of high school. He ran track for several years for Stonebridge, King’s Fork, and Faith in Action Ambassadors. At age 15, he began working for Zero’s Subs and worked there for five years.

After high school, Jesse took art and technology classes at Tidewater Community College and taught himself to repair smartphones and build computers by watching YouTube videos and spending many hours in practice and experimentation. This skill led to his first job as a smartphone technician. Since early 2015, he worked for Shiny Computers in Portsmouth, quickly becoming head technician. He absolutely loved working at Shiny Computers and was very interested in all the skills involved in growing a small business. He spoke of his dream of someday owning an innovative technology business and was about to enroll in a nano-degree program. He always loved art and has left his family with a collection of his stunning original artwork.

Jesse made an impact on the lives of many people in his brief life. He was a thinker, innovator and intense reader. He is remembered as thoughtful, kind, intelligent, funny and eccentric. He had a delightful dry wit and a unique personality that nothing can replace.

Jesse was predeceased by his grandparents, Jesse and Dorothy Apple and Frederick and Jean Shamanski.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Tom and Carol Apple; brother, Aaron Apple; aunts and uncles, Todd and Stephanie Mayo, Deborah Apple, Jeffery Apple, Sal Howes, Wally and Noreen Shamanski, Fay Shamanski and Mike McMillion; and cousins, Rene` Foster, Joshua, Jacob, Jillian, Julia Mayo.

A funeral will be conducted on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at 1 p.m. in the West End Baptist Church, 105 St. James Ave., Suffolk, with the Rev. T. Floyd Irby officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Condolences may be made at www.RWBakerFH.com.
