LMS Medical Supplies celebrated its grand opening on Aug. 13. The store relocated from a strip mall on Academy Avenue in Churchland to its own two-story building on Tyre Neck Road.
More than 100 friends, family members and staff gathered on the center’s grounds for the event.

LMS co-owner Lupe Sweeden was surprised and grateful for the strong community support. She was expecting a far smaller crowd.
“Lord, just give me 50,” she said she had prayed.
Lupe and Mike Sweeden gave their initials for LMS, which is also an acronym for three values the center stands by — love, mercy and service.
“We are a place where you know you will be greeted with a smile,” Sweeden said. “We are the best and we treat people how they want to be treated.”
Sweeden, a medical professional for more than 25 years, started the business in 1999. The center is accredited by the Joint Commission, a healthcare regulatory organization.
LMS has become a staple for several families in the community.
“We like being a home for the community,” Sweeden said.
The store supply includes orthopedic, diabetic and prosthetic products. In addition, it provides rental and repair services.
This fall, LMS plans to sell medical uniforms and offer massage therapy on the second floor. The center will also offer courier services for senior citizens.
