Carolyn “Mac” McPherson Gregory, 72, lost her battle with cancer on Sept. 5, 2016.

Born in Newport News on Feb. 8, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Hudgins McPherson. She graduated from Newport News High School, Pan American Business School and Tidewater Community College. She was retired and finished her career as a human resource manager.

She is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, Doug; her son, Matthew (Mary); daughter, Mollie (Gene); and son, Robert (Christine); a total of eight grandchildren and many “Favorite Cousins” and friends.

A true Southern belle, like her mother, she loved life, her family, and especially Mathews. She loved cooking, entertaining, listening to beach music, playing cards, gardening and boating.

A memorial service will be held on Oct. 8 at 1 p.m., at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Newport News.
