Two earn WGU degrees
Two Suffolk residents have received degrees from Western Governors University. The university held its 31st semi-annual commencement ceremony in Salt Lake City on July 16 and celebrated the graduation of more than 8,000 graduates.
Among them were the following:
Emily Davis of Suffolk, who received her Master of Science in Nursing – Education degree;
And Frances Hoffler of Suffolk, who received her Master of Science in Nursing – Leadership and Management degree.
Five graduate from Radford University
Five residents of Suffolk graduated from Radford University at the end of the spring semester.
They are:
Mary Elizabeth Ellis, who earned a Bachelor of Science in sociology;
Haley Madison Goins, who earned a Bachelor of Science in art and a Bachelor of Science degree in media studies;
Jennifer Hare, who earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in art;
Sarah Nichole Simms, who earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in management and a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing;
And Kelsey B. White, who earned a Bachelor of Science in interdisciplinary studies.
Nine named to Radford dean’s list
Nine Suffolk residents were named to the spring semester dean’s list at Radford University.
They are Sheldon Joy Babiy, junior design major; Virginia Hart Blair, junior psychology major; Thomas James Flintoff, senior recreation, parks, and tourism major; Haley Madison Goins, senior media studies major; Blake Guy Harris, sophomore psychology major; Kaylor Marie Nash, junior exercise, sport and health education major; Breann Marie Pendleton, sophomore media studies major; Kimberly A. Perry, junior pre-nursing major; and Kelsey B. White, senior interdisciplinary studies major.
To be named to the dean’s list, a student must have taken 12 or more graded credit hours and have a grade point average of 3.4 or above with no grade below a C.
