A log truck overturned on Gates Road Friday morning and caused the road to be closed for several hours.

The truck overturned in the 8300 block of Gates Road, according to a city press release. Emergency Communications was notified of the incident at 10:49 a.m.

The single occupant was not injured. Lamont Leathers, 41, of Edenton, N.C., was ticketed for failure to maintain control.

A detour was set up while the load was cleaned up and the vehicle was removed.
