Wade Andrew Morgan

Wade Andrew Morgan, 54, of 2012 Kilby Lane, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, in Sentara Obici Hospital.

Mr. Morgan was born in Suffolk on April 3, 1962, and was the son of the late Johnny Clark Morgan. Raised by his grandparents, Willie and Marvin Morgan, in the Corapeake community of Gates County, N.C., he was a member of Eureka Baptist Church and was a 1980 graduate of Gates County High School. He was employed with LPI Technical Services in Chesapeake.

In addition to his father and grandparents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Beth Cowart.

Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Betsy Holland Morgan; a son, Andy Morgan and wife, Mandy, of Suffolk; three sisters, Sharon Byrd and husband, Adam, of Portsmouth, Janice Askew and husband, Glenn, of Eure, N.C., and Hope Hostutler, of Kitty Hawk; two brothers, Johnny Morgan and wife, Renay, of Sneads Ferry, N.C. and James Morgan, of Elizabeth City, N.C.; his “Auntie Mom,” Mildred Morgan, of Corapeake; his stepmother, Cindy Morgan, of Elizabeth City; and five grandchildren, Luke, Jake, Bella, Cory and Josh.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Eureka Baptist Church and will be officiated by his pastor, the Rev. David Lawson. A private burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Friends may join the family in the social hall of the church the hour prior to services. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main St., Gatesville, N.C., is handling arrangements.
