One injured in fire

Firefighters extinguished a fire at a Myrtle Street home on Sunday evening.
The fire was reported at 10:05 p.m. in the 1100 block of Myrtle Street, and the first units arrived at 10:13 p.m., according to a city press release.
Crews found flames showing from the single-story residence when they arrived. An adult male that was at the residence was taken by ground ambulance to Sentara Obici Hospital with minor injuries. Firefighters rescued two dogs from the residence.
The fire was called under control at 10:29 p.m.
The cause of the fire is undetermined, and the fire marshal’s office will be investigating, according to the press release.
