Austin W. Browning

U.S. Air Force Airman Austin W. Browning graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Browning earned distinction as an honor graduate.

He is the son of Kelly D. and stepson of Shawn A. Vernon, brother of James R. Browning, and grandson of Bruce W. and Phyllis A. Armentrout of Suffolk.

The airman is a 2015 graduate of Nansemond River High School.

 

Ja’von C. Copeland

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Ja’von C. Copeland graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

Copeland is the son of James L. and Leola M. Copeland of Suffolk, and brother of Juanita J. Copeland of Suffolk and James L. Copeland of Byron, Ga.

He is a 2008 graduate of Lakeland High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 2016 from Elizabeth City State University, Elizabeth City, N.C.
