Darlene Ann Little

Darlene Ann Little, 57, of South 10th Street, transitioned Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was the daughter of the late James and Lula Lee Gibbons. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Elnora Wiggins, Abby Simmons and Barbara Gibbons, and one brother, Walker Gibbons.
She was a graduate of Forest Glen High School and worked with the Suffolk City Health Department for many years. Darlene was also a member of Total Transformation House of Praise. She had a very loving spirit and was a mother to ALL.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Libby Hawk (James) and Paulette Savage, both of Suffolk; two brothers, Paul Gibbons and James Gibbons, both of Suffolk; five nieces, Lula Ellis, Chiquita Gibbons, Rachquel Jackson, Lenora Simmons and Kanesha Simmons; three nephews, Leon Gibbons, Leon Riddick and Travis Riddick; sister-in-law, Rosa Gibbons; a host of great-nieces and -nephews, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries, 307 County St., Suffolk. Elder Glendell Whitfield will deliver the eulogy. Apostle Betty Knight will officiate. Bishop Viola Parker is the pastor. She will be laid to rest in Gethsemane Baptist Church Cemetery.
