Nansemond River High School’s baseball team defeated King’s Fork High School 7-3 Tuesday afternoon.
After coming off an impressive victory against Grassfield High School last week, the Bulldogs visited the Warriors. Nansemond River got off to a hot start, leading 5-0 after the first inning. King’s Fork scored one run in the second inning, but the Warriors kept them scoreless for the next three innings.
Gage Williams pitched four innings for the Warriors in the win.
“I believe we played great,” Williams said. “Our defense was solid. We ran bases well and took advantage of some errors they made. We are going to piece some more things together and have ourselves a solid team.”
Nansemond River will take on Grassfield on the road, while King’s Fork will take on Oscar Smith High School on the road, Thursday. Both games are at 5:30 p.m. Games could be rescheduled due to weather.
