Warriors take first match

Nansemond River High School golf team started season off 1-0 after defeating Deep Creek High School.
The Warriors golf team had no problem picking up where they left off from last season. After a nine-win season last year, the Warriors came back and snagged the first game of the season. As a team, the Warriors shot 363 at Bide-A-Wee Golf Course Monday afternoon.
Jackson Lyons shot 78 to lead the Warriors. Lyons is expected to take the reins as No. 1 player for the year.
Nansemond River will now face Grassfield High School on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Sleepy Hole Golf Course.
