Sonya G. Jordan was born on July 16, 1967, to Morris Daniels and the late Catherine Gates. She departed this earthly life suddenly on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017.

Sonya graduated from John Yeates High School in 1985. She received her associate degree in education from Paul D. Camp Community College and her bachelor’s degree in computer science from Virginia Tech.

Sonya leaves to cherish her memory her father; her beloved two sisters; a brother; five nieces; two nephews; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Ms. Jordan’s visitation will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. A celebration of life service will take place at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the Rev. Dr. Melvin R. Boone Chapel of T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home, Elder Clinton Holmes eulogist.
