“It’s a small town. It has a hometown feel. The downtown area is nice; it’s charming and quaint. I like to go to Amici’s and the Plaid Turnip. The Plaid Turnip is our Saturday morning breakfast tradition. It’s very trendy inside and artsy and fun. Harper’s Table is also really good. It’s a more high-end place.”

“My daughter lives in Suffolk, so I like seeing her. I like Suffolk a lot. I enjoy going to church here; I go to First Baptist down on Main Street. I also enjoy the Waffle House; I like getting scrambled eggs and hash browns from there.”

“I like the quality of life. The lifestyle is good — everything goes at a slower pace. The people are more friendly, especially the neighbors. The neighbors tend to look out for each other.”

“Bennett’s Creek Park is really nice. My granddaughter likes to go crabbing and fishing there. She also likes to play around at the playground they have there. The parks here offer a nice combination of sun and shade.”
