Tough words long overdue at U.N.

To the editor:

President Trump’s recent address to the United Nations was most outstanding on behalf of Americans and our wonderful country.

He was respectful but very direct and clear regarding all the key issues of the day. Most important, he made it clear that if North Korea attacks the U.S. or any of its allies, we would “totally destroy” North Korea.

He also made it clear that the U.S., as one nation of more than 100 members in the U.N., is unfairly paying 22 percent of the global body’s financial load, and he demanded a review and correction so all countries will more fairly share in the United Nations’ costs.

It was a powerful speech that put America first and that liberals attacked immediately for being so harsh as to threaten the total destruction of North Korea. As always, these weak-kneed Democrats and their mainstream media hypocrites omit the president’s clearly stated reason for such a potential action, that it would be in response to a nuclear attack by North Korea on the U.S. or its allies, as recently threatened by North Korea.

These same Democratic leaders imply that it would be OK for a nuclear attack to take place against the United States in Guam, Hawaii or our west coast; we could simply negotiate for something at that time, they suggest.

It’s disgustingly stupid, but that’s how liberals think. Whatever bad things might happen, the mainstream media will surely suggest that it’s all Trump’s fault.
