Carrie M. Howard, 86, of Forest Oak Lane, Suffolk, transitioned Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at her residence. She was a native of Nansemond County (Suffolk) and the daughter of the late George Sears and Mary Lou Eason. She was preceded in death by her husband, James William Howard; two brothers, Harrison (Happy) Eason and Richard (Tom) Eason; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was a member of TBOC and its senior choir, gospel choir and Sunday school.

She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Mia Goodman (David), of Suffolk; one son, David Bowers, of Suffolk; two sisters, Amelia Goodman (Raymond) and the Rev. Brenda Boone-Smith (the Rev. William); and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral will be held at noon, Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at Tabernacle Baptist Outreach Center (TBOC) on Nansemond Parkway, officiated by the Rev. Trevon Boone.
