Dorothy Marie Bowen Leonard, 77, passed away Oct. 12, 2017. She was born in Greensville County, the daughter of the late Russell Aubrey Bowen Jr. and Olga Dorothy Ondov Bowen. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, G. Carlton Leonard Sr.; and her sister, Judy Jones. Dorothy retired as a bookkeeper for Oakridge Pharmacy, owned by her husband. She was a member of Wilroy Baptist Church.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Sharon L. Adkison (Wendell), Anne M. Leonard; son and daughter-in-law, Gene C. Leonard Jr. (Barbara); grandchildren and spouses, Jason, Shannon, Benjamin, Russell (Tiffany), Matthew (Rachel), Wendell III, Christopher, Brittany; great-grandchildren, Kylie, Zachary, Beachlynn, Lilley, Blakely, Shane and Bayla; brothers, Billy Bowen and Donald Bowen, and numerous other family members and friends.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Tim Rawls officiating. Burial will follow at Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
