King’s Fork High School’s field hockey team won its regular season finale on the road against Deep Creek High School Tuesday evening.

The Lady Bulldogs grabbed a 2-1 win over Deep Creek to conclude the regular season. The win comes at a good time, as the Lady Bulldogs will now compete in the 4A regional playoffs. Isabella Gay and Anaya Godfrey scored both goals for King’s Fork.

“I’m excited after this win,” King’s Fork coach Ashley Skinner said. “We can take this energy forward and give the girls an opportunity to work together as a unit and try come out this season on top.”

In Skinner’s first year coaching at King’s Fork, she feels it has been a great season so far. She saw her team pushing every day to be better. At the start of the year, her expectations have been high for her team, and she believes that the team continues to exceed them.

When the 4A playoffs start, Skinner wants to see her team continue to work together. The Lady Bulldogs have already seen the majority of the teams they may see in the playoffs. Skinner is looking forward to seeing how her team matches up in a playoff atmosphere.

“We want just to go out there and show teams how much we have improved,” she said. “We just want to play our game and continue working as a team.”
