With the regular season ending and the postseason starting, the Lady Bulldogs volleyball team is hoping to extend its season.

King’s Fork High School girls’ volleyball team ended its regular season Tuesday with a win over rival Lakeland High School. Now, the Lady Bulldogs are preparing for a playoff game. They are hoping the way they have been playing the last week will translate into some postseason success.

Coach Megan Farabaugh took over the team in the middle of the season, and she feels her team has made significant progress since then.

“The girls have just been soaking up everything we have been teaching them,” she said. “They are always ready to learn. You can tell by the way they are playing that they are learning.”

Even though the playoff setting provides a whole new challenge, Farabaugh says that she won’t change what she has been doing and the way she has been coaching the team. She feels that the way she and her assistant coach have coached the team has been helpful for the Lady Bulldogs.

However, she wants the Lady Bulldogs to have a sense of urgency throughout the playoffs and not have any drop off.

“I want the girls to maintain their edge,” Farabaugh said. “We want to continue to play like a team and just stay aggressive.”

The Lady Bulldogs will have a play-in game against Heritage High School on the road at 6 p.m. Saturday. The winner will advance to the quarterfinals of the 4A region tournament on Monday.
