Timothy Mark Chambers

Timothy Mark Chambers, of Suffolk, age 48, died on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, following a brief illness.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jennifer Frensley Chambers, and three precious children, Jacob, Emilyn and Kenley, all of the home. In South Carolina, Mark leaves behind his mother, Roberta Carrington Griffith; his father, Louie P. Chambers, and stepmother, Elaine; one sister, Nita Chambers Lyda (and Jeff); and one brother, Paul Chambers (and Nancy). Mark is also survived by his loving in-laws, Michael and Theresa Frensley, of Brooksville, Fla., and caring brother-in-law, Michael Frensley, of Brooklyn, N.Y. Many nieces and nephews scattered across the country also miss and love their Uncle Mark.

Mark, a former minister of music in area churches, was employed by Dent Wizard as a regional sales manager. Born in Greenville, S.C., Mark graduated from Mauldin High School. He earned a B.M. in music theory and composition at Samford University and went on to study with Michael Kurek at the Blair School of Music of Vanderbilt University and Kenneth Jacobs at the University of Tennessee, where he earned the MM in composition. He has subsequently earned the DMA in music composition at the University of Alabama, where he studied composition with C.P. and was an award winning composer, conductor and performer.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1600 Colonial Ave., Norfolk, at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 to 2:50.
