To the editor:

Regarding the recent story about a student making threats toward John Yeates Middle School on social media: The school made the right decision to suspend that child for the actions he took, especially putting his classmates at risk.

The student who showed his mother what was on social media also made a good call.

Students in high school shouldn’t even be considering doing such harm to their school and/or peers. What is going on with them to make them want to do that?

Are they being bullied? Bullying is a huge thing in high schools nowadays. Older students pick on the weaker, and it can cause the bullied students to make rash decisions like this one.
The school system made the correct decision to suspend this student for his actions.
