“I’m honored to direct this year’s Concert Choir,” said conductor Dr. Eliezer Yanson. “Having had many of these singers as part of our graded choral program in previous years, I’m very encouraged by their progress and am excited to see what this group will accomplish this year.”

The Concert Choir will perform at Carnegie Hall in June. Yanson will guest-conduct the concert, which will feature the New England Symphonic Ensemble, guest soloists, and more than 120 singers from around the United States. The BJU Choir will serve as the core choir.

In addition, the Concert Choir performs two major concerts during the academic year. In October, the group presented Five Solas, a concert in commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation. In April, it will perform a concert featuring Schubert’s Mass in C, and the choir will perform as the opera chorus for the University Opera Association’s production of Lucia di Lammermoor.
