Catherine Towns, affectionately known as “Cat,” 60, of the 1000 block of Cogic Square, unexpectedly passed away on Nov. 1, 2017.

A native of Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Lee Towns Sr. and Lillie Mae Harden-Towns. Survivors include her only child, Tara Towns-Allen; son-in-law, Lamar Allen; three sisters, Eva Mae Towns-Hinton, Margaret Towns-Lawrence, and twin Mary Jean Towns; five brothers, Raymond Lee Towns Jr., John Author Towns, Roosevelt Towns, Roy Lee Towns (Beverly) and Ricky Anthony Towns (Bernice); five grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at True Vision Family Worship Center followed by an inurnment at Carver Memorial Cemetery.

The family is receiving visitors at 324 1/2 Holladay St., and the procession will depart from Holladay Street on noon on Wednesday.
