Alvin Lee Hollomon Jr., 65, passed away on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017. He was born on June 26, 1952, to Annie Louise Hollomon and the late Alvin Lee Hollomon Sr. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Curtis (Dwight), Alberta Thompson (Michael) and Willie Hollomon.

A native of Suffolk, Alvin attended John F. Kennedy High School and served in the U.S. Army. He previously worked at Newport News Shipyard, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Superior Auction and Carrollton Furniture.

Alvin leaves behind, his son Alvin Lee Hollomon III (Ashea); daughter, Shalonda Monique Johnson (David); grandchildren, Jazmin Johnson, Dashara Johnson, Loryn Johnson and Shakila Hollomon; brothers, Charlie Hollomon (Tammy) and Frankie Hollomon; aunt, Eartha Hollomon; special friend, Brenda Hollomon; and a host of other family and friends.

Mr. Hollomon’s visitation will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. A funeral will take place at noon on Friday at the funeral home chapel, and he will be laid to rest at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
