A portion of Bob White Lane in Suffolk will be closed to public motorists beginning Tuesday.

The section of Bob White Lane between Shoulders Hill Road and Deanes Station Road will be closed to motorists, according to an Hampton Roads Sanitation District press release. The bike path will still be open to the public during this time.

The closure will remain until the segment of work is finished, which is estimated for late February, the press release stated.

Motorists entering and exiting Bob White Landing from Shoulders Hill Road will access Bob White Lane via Rabey Farm Road and Deanes Station Road, the press release stated.

The closure is for a project that will replace existing yard piping and valves at the Pughsville Pressure Reducing Station near the intersection of Bob White Lane and Shoulders Hill Road. This is expected to reduce the risk of sanitary sewer overflows during heavy rain events, according to the Pughsville Station Upgrades webpage on hrsd.com.

The work is not expected to affect any water or sewer services, according to the project webpage.
