All three Suffolk Public Schools advanced to the second round of the playoffs and will all be in action again Friday.

Last weekend was a successful weekend for football in the city of Suffolk. Nansemond River High School, Lakeland High School and King’s Fork High School all advanced to their regional semifinals. The Bulldogs strolled into the second round behind a 63-point blowout. Nansemond River won its first playoff game since 1995, and Lakeland stunned not only its opponent but also spectators.

After having a home game for the opening round, Nansemond River will go on the road this week. They will take on Indian River High School for the second time this season.
