Janice Irene Artis-White, 58, passed away on Nov. 16, 2017. She was born on July 9, 1959, to the late Rufus Artis and Lula Sessoms-Artis.

A native of Suffolk, Janice graduated from Forest Glen High School in 1978 and served in the U.S. Army. She retired from Western Tidewater Community Service Board. She had a passion for caregiving and was an avid bingo player.

Janice leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, Vondell and Maurice White; sister, Rosa Diane Artis; grandson, Jamari Thomas; and a host of other family and friends.

Ms. White’s visitation will take place from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. A funeral will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home chapel, and she will be laid to rest at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
