Two King’s Fork Middle School students have been suspended after allegedly injuring classmates with tainted high-fives.

The students put push pins between their fingers and gave other students high-fives during class transition, school division spokeswoman Bethanne Bradshaw stated in an email on Thursday.

Bradshaw said four students were injured.

The two students were given two days of out-of-school suspension, Bradshaw said.

She added that the affected students’ parents were notified. The clinic assistant sent clinic referral notes home with the students after the injuries were washed with soap and water and covered with an adhesive bandage.

Parents were also contacted by the division’s health services supervisor, who asked parents to ensure their child’s tetanus shot was up to date and to follow up with a medical provider if needed.
