Mary Donnan Debranski died Nov. 29, 2017, in Atlanta, Ga., after a 6-1/2 year battle with ocular melanoma. Originally from Suffolk, Mary Donnan was a 1995 Lakeland High School graduate and a 1999 graduate of Virginia Tech.

There will be a memorial celebration of her life at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at R.W. Baker & Funeral Home and Crematory, Suffolk, VA 23234. Ocular melanoma is a rare disease, and funding for research to find a cure is very limited at this time. Therefore, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in Mary Donnan’s honor can be sent to the Ocular Melanoma Foundation at 1717 K St. NW, Suite #900, Washington, DC 20006 or by going to www.ocularmelanoma.org.
