Herbert Scott, Jr., 83, of Townpoint Road, Suffolk, transitioned Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Hill Scott.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Cynthia Goodson, of New York; sister, Martha Scott-Gordon, of Suffolk; brother, Deacon Lonnie Scott (Cora); a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at Tabernacle Baptist Outreach Center. Pastor Trevon Boone will deliver the eulogy. He will be laid to rest in Poplar Run Baptist Church. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
