Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Cabarrus Brooks, of 1748 Nansemond Parkway, departed this earthly life on Dec. 13, 2017. She was a virtuous woman who lived to be 97 years old.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at the Faith Temple Ministries. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16 through Monday, Dec. 18, 2017. Harris Funeral Home has been entrusted with the home going service.
