Norfolk State University standout Khadedra Croker recently earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.

The former King’s Fork High school star earned the award for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Croker earned the award by averaging 3.3 blocks over three games.

In a game against Towson University, she blocked four shots, and she followed that with six blocks against Campbell University. Croker’s defensive play helped her team set an NCAA Division I record for fewest points allowed in a win, with 27 against Campbell.

Croker spent two years at Virginia Tech before transferring to Norfolk State last year. She had to sit out the year due to NCAA transfer rules. So far, she is averaging 6.7 points a game to go with 5.3 rebounds and has a team-leading 33 blocks on the season.

At King’s Fork, Croker established herself as one of the best players in the school’s history. During the 2013-2014 season, she helped lead the Lady Bulldogs to a 21-3 record. She was named the Ironclad Conference Player of the Year and topped 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds for her career. She was the first player (girl or boy) in KFHS history to accomplish both. Defensively, she had more than 900 blocks as a Lady Bulldog.
