Shannon Evans II has helped Arizona State University men’s basketball team to a top-five ranking.

Evans is the No. 2 scorer on ASU with 17.3 points per game while also averaging 4.7 assists per game. ASU is currently 12-0 and off to the best start in the school’s history. Last Friday, Evans added 21 points to lead his team to its victory over Pacific University.

Before the season, the Sun Devils were picked to finish sixth in their own conference (Pac-12) but are now one of the best college basketball teams at this point in the season. The Suffolk native is a senior who could possibly find himself as part of March Madness in just a few short months.

At Nansemond River High School, he helped the team to a 22-4 record while averaging 19 points as a senior.
