Charlie F. Green

Overseer Charlie F. Green was born Jan. 12, 1951, to his parents, Charlie Green and Margie Green, of Zuni. His father preceded him in death. Charlie transitioned into his eternal rest on Jan. 19, 2018, at Sentara Obici Hospital.

Overseer Green attended and received his education in the Isle of Wight County School System. He was a dedicated member of the Pentecostal Holiness Churches of America. He served diligently as a servant for the Lord. Overseer stood strong on what he believed and could not be swayed. He held many offices in the Body of Christ. He has served as the pastor of St. James PHC in Hobgood, N.C., president of the Minister and Laymen Conference, State Overseer of North Carolina, a member of the PHC Elder Board and treasurer of the Youth Conference. He and his wife built their home together in Suffolk, and to their union they raised two sons.

Overseer Green leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Mozella Green; two sons, Carl C. Green (Jonii), of Charlotte, N.C., and Marco O. Green, of Suffolk; three granddaughters, TaLeah, Karnay and (that lil baby) Camryn; mother, Margie Copeland, of Zuni; six sisters, Margie Green, of Zuni, Dorothy Copeland, of Suffolk, Viola Green, of Franklin, Charlotte Humerickhouse (Mark), of Mechanicsville, Evelyn Green, of Newport News, and Linda Frances, of Newport News; five brothers, Howard Green (Elaine), of Suffolk, Wrencis Johnson, of Fort Bragg, N.C., Anthony Green (Wanda), of Suffolk, Calvin Green, of Richmond, and Fitzgerald Green (Kathy), of Australia; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, at Balm Church East Campus, 523 E. Washington St. He will be laid to rest in St. Paul PHC Cemetery in Zuni. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
