John “Booth” Dowdy, 85, died on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018. A visitation will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. A funeral will take place at noon Thursday at Metropolitan Baptist Church, and he will be laid to rest with military honors at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
