Two men were found guilty this week in the beating of a Suffolk man during a white-supremacist rally in Charlottesville last year.
Jacob Scott Goodwin and Alex Michael Ramos were both found guilty after two-day jury trials in the beating of DeAndre Shakur Harris. It happened Aug. 12 at the “Unite the Right” rally, where Harris was a counterprotestor.
Harris, a Lakeland High School graduate, suffered a concussion, broken arm and a severe laceration on his head that required eight staples, he wrote on a GoFundMe page after the attack.
Goodwin and Ramos are set to be sentenced Aug. 23. Two other men arrested in the attack, Daniel Patrick Borden, of Ohio, and Tyler Watkins Davis, of Florida, have jury trials set in June and July, respectively.
In March, Harris was acquitted of charges connected to the incident that had been taken out by a man alleging Harris assaulted him during the chaos.
