Early lead earns NR win

The Nansemond River High School baseball team defeated rival Lakeland High School 11-2 Friday evening on the road.
The Warriors scored six runs in the second inning to give them the lead over the Cavs. Lakeland scored its only two runs of the game in the second and third innings.
Daulton Manning, Tristian Williams, Zach Cain and Gage Williams handled pitching duties, with Manning earning the win. NRHS collected 11 hits on the day, with Ben Grady going 3-3 with three runs and an RBI. He also had a double and added a stolen base.
For Lakeland, Cody Anderson went 2-3 with a run. Demonta Hawkins added a double.
