New Kent High School ended Lakeland High School’s softball season Friday evening.

The Lady Trojans shut out the Lady Cavs 9-0 Friday evening on the road in the second round of the Class 3 Region A tournament. Lakeland fell behind 6-0 after two innings and wasn’t unable to get anything going on the offensive end, as they had one hit as a team.

Sara Matthews pitched a complete game and struck out three. With a big win against Booker T. Washington High School Wednesday evening, Lakeland was able to win one game this postseason.
