Barbara Daughtrey Lang, 81, of 281 US Hwy 158 West, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018, in Sentara Obici Hospital.

Mrs. Lang was born in Suffolk on July 9, 1936, and was the daughter of the late James Thomas and Addie Benton Daughtrey. A retired cafeteria manager from Gates County schools, she was a member of Abundant Hope Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Daniel Wilson Lang; four children, Nancy Hague, of Sunbury, John Lang and wife, Becky, of Gates, Kathy Russell and husband, Steve, of Suffolk, and Janet Mizelle and husband, Donnie, of Gatesville; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Abundant Hope Baptist Church and will be conducted by Pastors Jon Rissmiller, Ray Brickhouse and Walter Black. Burial will follow in the Gatesville Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main St., Gatesville, or in the social hall of Gatesville Baptist Church immediately following the graveside service on Friday, or all other times at the residence.
