Mores homes are in store for Western Branch residents in a mixed-use community that’s being developed by Virginia Beach-based Kotarides Holdings, owner of Chesapeake Square Mall.
The next phase of development of Jolliff Landing at Western Branch, located along Portsmouth Boulevard, will be The Manor Homes at Jolliff Landing. This will include 361 single-family residences in three-to-five-bedroom floor plans ranging from 2,200 to 3,300 square feet with prices starting in the high $300,000s, according to a press release.
The homes will be built by Corinth Residential, a division of Kotarides Holdings, and Wirth Living, a division of Wirth Development Corporation. Site work began several weeks ago and the first model homes are expected to be finished by summer 2019, according to Petro Kotarides.
The first phase of development at Jolliff Landing included the Clairmont apartment community and the Townhomes at Jolliff Landing, which will feature 178 total units at completion.
“The concept is to have different types of housing closer to each other,” Petro Kotarides said in a phone interview. “We’re trying to emphasize traditional neighborhood design. The commercial section will have retail opportunities for residents when that’s built out, as well.”
Kotarides Holdings bought Chesapeake Square Mall earlier this year for $12.9 million. The redevelopment of the mall is part of the company’s vision for Western Branch, going hand-in-hand with Jolliff Landing just a few miles down Portsmouth Boulevard.
Amenities will include a resort-style pool and open-air pavilion, walking trails, parks and plazas with outdoor seating. Residents also enjoy a clubhouse complete with a kitchen, conference room and fitness center.
“It’s a part of Chesapeake that’s we’re very excited about,” Petro Kotarides said.
