Donald Lee Keyt Sr.

Passed in peace on June 25, 2018, at the age of 83.

Devoted husband to Edie for 35 years.

Loving father to Lee, Tina (Marsell) Bustos, Thad (Darlene) Keyt, Kirk Hagy (Peter Bureau), and Priscilla (John) Thomas.

Proud grandfather of Chelsea Keyt, Christina and Savannah Bustos, Charles (Haley) and William Keyt, and Alex Carlsen.

Don, an engineering graduate from NC State, served honorably in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot and achieved the rank of captain.

“Banjo Eyes” will be fondly remembered by family and friends for his love of boats, airplanes, peanuts, animals, travel adventures and any kind of oysters!

After working many years as an engineer in several corporations, Don built and operated Seagull Marine in Suffolk for many years. Always fixing and tinkering with something, his hands were rarely still. Don loved to share a smile and Tootsie Roll Pops with folks he encountered in his later years.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 29 in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main St., Gatesville.
