Suffolk native selected to ICC All-Stars

Suffolk native Jean-Claude Bile’ was selected to the Virginia International Champions Cup Futures team.

The inaugural International Champions Cup Futures brings rising youth soccer stars from around the globe to ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla., to compete in a truly unique international tournament.

ICC Futures will feature 24 teams from the United States and Europe, comprising the top U-14 youth players in the world, including eight teams from Major League Soccer’s Development Academy, eight state-represented All-Star teams and eight European academy teams associated with leading professional soccer clubs. The teams will battle each other over the course of a week in a bracketed tournament, with the winner being named the International Champions Cup Futures winner.

The ICC was founded in 2013 and has featured talent from women, men and youth from different states and countries.

Bile’ was selected out of about 60 finalists from the state of Virginia. He is a rising ninth-grader at King’s Fork High School and started out playing for the Suffolk Youth Athletic Association. Last season, he played JV soccer for King’s Fork. It is a big opportunity for the Suffolk native to showcase his skill on a national level.

The quarterfinals will be televised on ESPNU on July 20, the semifinals on ESPNEWS on July 21, and the final on ESPN2 on July 22.
