Elizabeth Carol Gomer, 64, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, passed away at home on Friday, July 13, 2018. Carol was born on Jan. 25, 1954. She was the daughter of the late William and Frances Crusenberry.

She was a member of Oxford Methodist Church and a past volunteer for youth groups and Sunday school classes. Her faith never wavered during her sickness. She was one of the owners of Hoist & Crane LLC. A very creative person, she enjoyed quilting and sewing. Some of her greatest pleasures in life were Thanksgiving dinners with the entire family, Christmas day present exchanges and her granddaughter’s dance recitals. Her faith and her family always came first. A friend to everybody, she always put others first.

She is survived by her husband, Lyndsey Gomer; sons, Michael and his daughter, Baileah, Will and wife, Tiffany, and their daughter, Anna; brother, Gary and his wife, Jackie.

The family would like to thank Drs. Rosa Javier, Claire Carmen, Michael Danso and their entire staff for the care and compassion shown to their family.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2018, in R.W. Baker & Company Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, VA 23434. Burial will be in Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery, 1421 Kings Fork Road, Suffolk, VA 23434. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2018.
