Home destroyed in fire

Suffolk Fire and Rescue responded to a fully involved residential structure fire in the Schooner Cove neighborhood early Monday morning, according to a city press release.
Dispatch was notified at 5:06 a.m. of the fire in the 4700 block of Schooner Boulevard, and upon arrival at 5:13 a.m. units found the home almost fully involved.
Firefighters began defensive operations to get the fire under control.
Two occupants were displaced and were being assisted by family. They were not at home when the first started, the release stated.
There were no injuries.
The Fire Marshal’s office cannot confirm a cause for the fire, but they will be handling an investigation.
Responding units included Engines 5, 10 and 25, Ladder 5, Medic 10A, and Battalion 2.
Traffic control was provided by the Suffolk Police Department.
